James Garfield Under Macy's

The statue was erected in 1887 and was executed by Charles Niehaus, a local sculptor. Originally it stood in the middle of the street and was moved to Race street entrance of Piatt Park in 1915.  In 1988 it was moved again to the Vine Street Entrance of Piatt Park.
